Roof Replacement


Description:
Manchester Community College needed a new roof for one of the major buildings on campus which houses a student center, classrooms, and offices.  The firm of Martin A. Benassi, AIA - Architect provided full architectural services for replacing the existing ballasted single-ply membrane roofing with a new fully-adhered EPDM roofing system.  Miscellaneous appurtenances included skylight replacement, solar collector demolition, and chimney redesign to bring it into compliance with code.

Scope of work included:

  • Demolition & removal of existing solar panels, including hot water storage tank
  • Remove existing roof in its entirety
  • Install 81,000 square feet of a new fully-adhered EPDM roofing system and related sheet metal
  • Replacement of roof drains
  • Remove and replace skylights
  • Construction of a new brick chimney with metal hood

Estimated cost:  $514,000
