Roof Replacement Description:
Manchester Community College needed a new roof
for one of the major buildings on campus which houses a student
center, classrooms, and offices. The firm of
Martin A. Benassi, AIA - Architect provided
full architectural services for replacing the existing
ballasted single-ply membrane roofing with a new
fully-adhered EPDM roofing system.
Miscellaneous appurtenances included skylight replacement,
solar collector demolition, and chimney redesign to
bring it into compliance with code.
Scope of work included:
- Demolition & removal of
existing solar panels, including hot water storage tank
- Remove existing roof in
its entirety
- Install 81,000 square
feet of a new fully-adhered EPDM roofing system and related sheet metal
- Replacement of roof
drains
- Remove and replace
skylights
- Construction of a new
brick chimney with metal hood
