Description:
Two buildings located in the historic district of Southport directly on the Mill River are the clubhouses of the Pequot Yacht Club.  Both buildings exhibited masonry deterioration.  The club decided to address this situation by contracting with the firm of Martin A. Benassi, AIA - Architect to perform a visual site investigation of the masonry on both clubhouses.  A report was prepared containing the observations of the existing problems and conditions, along with an analysis of the conditions found and identification of the probable causes of damage or failure.  The report also provided the most cost effective solutions for the problem areas found.  Martin Benassi presented his findings to the members at a special meeting and answered questions related to budgeting and long-range planning.
