Description:

Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church requested an investigation of the existing slate roof on the Church and Hall.  The report was used to evaluate roof repairs, long range planning, and budgeting.

Upon completion of the investigation phase, the firm of Martin A. Benassi, AIA - Architect was retained to prepare a full set of contract documents for the complete reroofing and related masonry restoration of the Church.  The firm assisted the Church through the bidding and construction administration of the project.

Scope of work included:

  • New slate roof including all related copper flashing, membrane waterproofing, snow guards, lightning protection, and gutters
  • Clerestory window restoration
  • Limited masonry restoration including stone repointing and repair
  • Miscellaneous interior work related to roof access
  • Fully adhered EPDM membrane on bell tower roof
  • Estimated cost:  $500,000
